Travel Photography information evening

Photographer, Christian Pearson, will be talking about his adventures as an international photographer and discussing his photography tips for travelling throughout the world. He will also answer your questions on anything from the correct lens for Antarctic light or how to photograph tigers in the wild! The information evening will be held on 11 November at 6.30pm, at Peregrine HQ at 3/380 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne and is free of charge!

Our most complete and varied Antarctic adventure to the extraordinary Falkland Islands and diverse sub-Antarctic islands and Antarctic Peninsula will this year focus on the visual arts. With John Rodsted and renowned wildlife artist, Brett Jarrett aboard, this voyage will truly focus on the needs of the photographer and artist. Early morning and late night excursions to both the shore and in amongst the ice will maximise access to low and glancing light, and the pace of travel will slow in destinations of the greatest beauty so we can thoroughly explore, exercising patience to get that ‘magic image’.

CHRISTIAN PEARSON

CHRISTIAN-PEARSON Christian Pearson has a Diploma of Illustrative Photography (Fine Art) and a Bachelor of Biological Science (Biochemistry). This unconventional background of art and science produces conceptually driven images that are of outstanding technical excellence. Christian founded Misheye Photography & Art in 1999 and Misheye has been supplying unique images to its diverse range of clients ever since. Christian is also a member of the Australian Institute of Professional Photographers (AIPP). He regularly exhibits his photographic art pieces and his images of the natural world have been exhibited around the world. His work can be found in private collections in the UK, Europe and Australia. He has also been commissioned to produce work for private organisations and individuals. Christian is passionate about the role the visual language plays in society. Christian will escort our photographic tours in India and Nepal.

JOHN RODSTED

John has been travelling the world working as a freelance photographer since 1986. His travels have had him to some of the most intriguing regions on earth – from South East Asia and the Middle East to Antarctica and the High Arctic. Frequently working in the world’s war-torn regions, he has recorded through the lens the plight of people and refugees escaping the horrors of war. His work has been exhibited in some of the most important locations around the globe and in 1997 he won a Nobel Peace Prize for his work with the international Campaign to Ban Landmines in Cambodia. John will host our tour in Jordan and Syria, as well as our tour in Cambodia and Vietnam.
