Southern India Peregrine Adventures together with Inspired Adventures are excited to launch The Eye Foundation Larapinta Challenge 2009. Inspired Adventures offer life changing experiences to everyday Australians whilst helping them to raise money for a broad range of charities. The Larapinta Trail is considered one of the best walks in Australia, traversing the West MacDonnell Ranges. The rugged rocky outcrops form a striking backdrop to scenic paths that cut a swath through scenic gorges and expansive plains. Peregrine Adventures and Inspired Adventures are giving twenty people the opportunity to join this incredible trekking challenge in late April in support of The Eye Foundation. This adventure is designed to challenge Australians to get fit and have an extraordinary experience in one of Australia’s most incredible and scenic destinations whilst raising funds for The Eye Foundation. The Eye Foundation is the medical eye specialists’ foundation, dedicated to restoring sight and preventing vision loss throughout Australasia. The Foundation supports more than 850 Australian and New Zealand medical eye specialists (ophthalmologists) who are passionate about giving future generations the best vision possible. Funds raised from The Eye Foundation Larapinta Challenge 2009 will go directly to The Eye Foundations indigenous eye health programs including the Minum Barreng (‘tracking of eyes’) Indigenous Project. We invite you to consider participating in this fundraising and fitness challenge which is all about everyday people – fundraising champions – incredible journeys!

East China Solar Eclipse Tour - 14 Days / July 2009

Southern India On 22nd July 2009 a total eclipse of the sun will be visible from a narrow corridor across the Earth. The eclipse will be the longest of the 21st century, lasting almost 6 minutes from our viewing point. Solar eclipses are only visible in a few select spots at one time and return to the same place only every two or three centuries, therefore this is a rare chance to view such a phenomenon.

This exciting tour combines the highlights of China with the unique opportunity to view the eclipse at Anji. In Beijing we explore all the major places of interest, including the Forbidden City, the Temple of Heaven and the Summer Palace. We also visit a mostly unrestored and remote section of the Great Wall, allowing you to absorb the immenseness of this incredible structure without jostling for a position with thousands of other tourists. Heading to Xian, home to a flourishing Muslim population, we visit the world renowned 2,000-year-old Terracotta Warriors. After viewing the Solar Eclipse in Anji we complete our tour in Shanghai, the largest city in China, once known as the Paris of the East.
